Upgraded armour! The UR-110 TTH stands for "Tantalum Hull."
Derived from an idea of Kinglons Bird of Prey spaceship's impenetrable hull. This 110 gets its power from its thicker, more robust, dense bezel, with a thickness of 4.10mm compared to the 2.40mm of the previous 110 models. Even the sapphire crystal has been enhanced, giving this version a more imposing look.

Originally from 2012, the now discontinued UR-110 line has been one of our most popular collections. We are proud to offer this UR-110 TTH case number 3 of 55,  in our Pre-Owned collection in like-new condition, complete with a two-year international Pre-Owned warranty, original URWERK box and a brand new Baltimora textile and leather strap.

Satin and sand-blasted finishing of the Tantalum bezel gives unique blue/grey tones. Six screws hold this armour plate into place with the titanium case. Its registration number is etched on the sapphire crystal of the UR-110 TTH at 8 o'clock.

Tantalum is not often used in the watch industry. Its toughness makes it complicated to machine. Never one to choose the easy route, we combined this unique metal with our 2011 Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève prize-winning satellite complication; the UR-110 TTH is a true warrior's watch.

A revolving hour satellite follows a vertically arced line, graded from 0 to 60 minutes, in a downward motion. Planetary gearing keeps the three hour-satellites and their arrow-shaped "torpedoes" in parallel formation as they take turns to indicate the time as they pass the 60-minute track. This performance is made possible by utilizing an architecture featuring three levels of complexity:

- A central carousel provides the complication with stability and equilibrium

- Planetary gearing assures the parallel rotation of the three hour-satellites as they orbit the dial

- Three counter-rotating hour modules – each comprising an hour satellite, minute hand and counterbalance – are each mounted on a planetary gear. These three modules are in constant counter-rotation to offset the direction of rotation of the central carousel.

The dial side control board displays Day/Night indicator, 'Oil Change' alerting service intervals and small seconds. Turn the UR-110 over and reveal the twin-turbine windows. These turbines help regulate the uni-directional rotor's winding rate, preventing extra wear and tear.

CREATORS THOUGHTS:

Felix Baumgartner - "Tantalum is a rare metal of which the name comes from Tantalus, a Greek mythological figure synonymous with temptation; we naturally succumbed to its charms! Its colour is such that we decided to use it in its natural state while satin-finishing and sand-blasting helped enhance the natural beauty of this intriguing material."

Martin Frei - "The UR-110 already existed, but we are always curious and eager to discover new visual expressions of an existing model. A material like Tantalum, which we used for the first time for the UR-110TTH, can reveal very different aspects of the watch. The dark, slightly violet-blue colour of the pure element, its weight, and its tough, highly corrosion-resistant properties reveal an aesthetic side of UR-110 that was completely unknown to us. The rare, dense, hard metal called for a thicker bezel and extra screws, so I named this extraordinary version of the UR110: Tantalum Hull, like with the armoured hull of a Klingon spaceship."
